Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith have discussed the possibility of a League Of Gentlemen reunion...

Of busy men in the world of TV, Mark Gatiss is one of the busiest. As well as regularly chipping in with Doctor Who episodes, he is also a co-star and co-showrunner for Sherlock and presumably set to have an expanded role in the next season of Game Of Thrones.

However, former collaborator Reece Shearsmith (who has also been doing fine on his own with roles in The World’s End, A Field In England and the upcoming High Rise), has hinted that there may be one more project on Gatiss’ plate – a reunion with his former co-star and writing partner.

Shearsmith has confirmed recently that he, Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Jeremy Dyson have met to discuss a reunion. Whether or not said meeting of minds will result in more League Of Gentlemen episodes, or something else altogether, Shearsmith couldn’t confirm.

"I think we will do something again," he said. "We’ve started to talk about a thing. It might not be [League of Gentlemen location] Royston Vasey, but just collaborating again would be great."

Having thoroughly enjoyed a lot of work from League members in the years since 2005’s The League Of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse, we’d be very interested to see what they came up with next.

In the meantime, if you missed Psychoville, which featured Shearsmith and Pemberton collaborating again, it’s well worth a watch. Psychobitches also had episodes written by several members.
