Three of The CW's most successful shows have received early renewal orders, including new series, Arrow...

Fans of brooding love triangles, handsome casts, and other-worldly intrigue have woken up to glad tidings this morning, as it's announced The CW has given early renewal orders to its three best-performing shows, newcomer Arrow, four-year-old The Vampire Diaries, and eight-seasons-and-counting stalwart Supernatural.

All three are due to return to the network this autumn, Arrow for its second twenty-two episode run, The Vampire Diaries for its fifth, and Supernatural for a whopping ninth season. The decision was what's known in technical TV analysis circles as a no-brainer: audiences continue to watch them in their droves, so they're coming back. Applause all round.

I'm enjoying Arrow, bloody good romp, but supernatural has run its course I think

Yeah for 'Supernatural' and 'Arrow'. And a slight cheer for Twilight The Series.. eh, I mean 'The Vampire Diaries'.

congrats fro SN :-)

I like Arrow but I'm still not quite sure why.

It can't just be for that girl's incredibly tight mohair sweater tops.

It's as though a young Ben Affleck decided to play at Batman going to a costume party as Robin Hood.

I'm still not sure if the guy's cardboard monotone thing is acting or lack of acting.

I like to think the wooden demeanor is acting, i think the reason its popular is some pretty good action scenes and that its not scared of really killing the baddies unlike most shows of its ilk

As Oliver Queen, I think he's rather good. As the Hood, his delivery makes me giggle every single time. I think the apogee/nadir was when he yelled out in his alpha male superhero voice "Give those pensioners back their savings!" Other than that, good show.
