The Brady Bunch reboot on the way
The remake wheel keeps turning with CBS developing a new take on seventies US sitcom, The Brady Bunch…
Cheery family sitcom may not fall strictly under our Geek banner, but telly nostalgia certainly does, which is why we thought you might like to know that Vince Vaughn has conceived a reboot of The Brady Bunch.
Never as big a deal over here as it was in the states, The Brady Bunch ran between 1969 and 1974 on ABC and spawned a number of spin-offs, sequels, and specials. For the uninitiated, it was the story (imagine a smiley sixties pop star singing this bit) of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three very lovely girls… In short, she marries widowed architect father-of-three Mike Brady, and the two blend their families into one mostly harmonious bunch.
Vaughn’s concept, in development by CBS TV, is a sequel to the original series featuring a now-divorced Bobby Brady remarrying with his very own lovely lady and starting a new blended family, The Brady Bunch: TNG if you like. The D-word was vetoed by the network in the original series, leaving viewers clueless as to why Carol Brady was raising her blonde trio on her lonesome (mountain lion attack? Triple-immaculate conception?), but times, as we know, have changed.
My Name Is Earl’s Mike Mariano’s on scripting duties for the revisited Brady Bunch with Vaughn producing. Fun fact: our editor-in chief maintains that 1996 movie A Very Brady Sequel, is excellent.

Does no-one have an original thought anymore?
A Very Brady Sequel is great and one of the best and most under rated comedies of the 90s, I think a "looking back at" article on the first two movies would be an excellent idea
This has already been done by ABC it was called "Step By Step" (1991-1998) and featured Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers. Predicting failure.
