Summer Glau joins Arrow season 2

News Louisa Mellor 11 Jul 2013 - 08:30

Firefly and Alphas' Summer Glau has joined Arrow's second season in a recurring role...

As if the presence of Doctor Who and Torchwood alumni Alex Kingston and John "yes, that is me at the end of Zero Dark Thirty" Barrowman wasn't enough to up the geek content of The CW's Arrow, the comic-book adaptation has just made Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity, The 4400, Dollhouse, Alphas, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) a season two regular.

Glau is to join Arrow's second season in the recurring adversarial role of Isabel Rochev, the Vice President of Acquisitions for Stellmoor International, a company seeking to take over Queen Consolidated. Those who know her as the recently introduced masked Siberian love rival to Moira Queen will note one or two of Arrow's characteristic changes to DC canon.

Well, that's looks like Arrow cancelled now :-D

Damn, I really enjoy Arrow.

I like Summer Glau but she sure has the stink on her...

Firefly (cancelled)
The Unit (cancelled)
The 4400 (cancelled)
Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles (cancelled)
Dollhouse (cancelled)
The Cape (cancelled - thankfully though!)
Alphas (cancelled)
Arrow....

Lol I just said the same thing on the fb link before following it. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have noticed.

My wife read this last night on another website (yes, apparently there are others, who knew?), she's not even a genre loving person but the first thing she said was "that's Arrow cancelled then!"

To be fair, she mostly appears in geek shows, and geek shows and cancelled shows are practically synonymous.

She was in an episode of The Big Bang Theory, and that's still going!

Ah yes, but she was playing herself wasn't she? Good job too!

Thankfully this could keep her away from Joss Whedon's Agents of SHIELD.

Let's hope so.

Is John Barrowman a regular now then? I thought he was just in for one episode?

What show were you watching? He was in the entire first season lol

The Curse of Serenity has to be broken eventually. Nathan Fillion used to suffer from it as well (anyone remember Drive?) but after 5 or 6 years of Castle I think it's fair to say he is cured.

"Lol". I haven't seen any of them, that's why I asked...

The cape got alot of grief but I actually quite enjoyed it. Yes there were a few moments of cheese-tastic-ness but it was actually developing into something quite good.

How could anyone not enjoy Vinnie Jones having an argument with a dwarf that proceeds to knee cap Vinnie with a wrench ?

My main problem with The Cape, and that's not even mentioning that it was a stupid idea for a show, was that the acting was so so so bad. Across the board it was atrocious.

You mention Vinnie Jones, I quite enjoy him in his own cheesy way, he turns up and does what he always does and usually sticks out like a sore thumb, in a good way though, however in The Cape Vinnie Jones blended in with all the other pantomime going on around him.

David Lyons is a terrible actor and is hamming it up on Revolution to the same degree. James Frain, my lord, I don't know how he gets work! Let's add some circus freaks to the mix! Summer Glau why the hell you said yes to this I will never know, I understand you need to eat but really?

I gave The Cape a good go, 6 or 7 episodes before giving up on it. If it had been on SyFy it might've gone on for a few seasons, it's more their kind of show, but I totally understand why NBC canned it.

But I'm pleased you enjoyed it, each to their own and all that.

Aaaand It's cancelled.

Fair enough. It's a really good show. Barrowman plays Merlyn the archer who's the 'big bad'.

Brilliant news for Summer Glau!

So pleased for her at last a breakthrough for Summer, Arrow is absolutely pure class, now its about to get even more classier. Can't wait for season two of Arrow, chuffed to bits for Summer.

Great news, Absolutely love the Arrow series and can't wait for season 2 to start, now Summer has been added as a recurring character just adds to the excitement of season 2 starting.

Yay! Great news! I think I'm going to start watching Arrow now!

That is awesome news, I can't wait to watch the season 2 of Arrow!

Wonderful news! A villain this time.

Never watched the show……..I will now that Summer is in it, fantastic news and I hope it goes well.

This should be interesting to see Summer play as a main villan in Arrow. It's good to see that she's expanding her exposure to other types of characters rather than sticking to the ones that she is known for.

Great! Which means having to watch season one, but that is doable.

Arrow season 1 was great, but I have a suspicion Season 2 will be even more awesome

I am SO excited for this! I had a feeling this would show up sometime- i just knew it!! I already love the Arrow! This is awesome news! Good luck Summer!!
