Hannibal, 30 Days Of Night, and Twilight director, David Slade, is going behind the camera for Sony PlayStation's Powers TV series...

With a clutch of shiny, new and returning Marvel and DC TV series arriving this autumn and early next year (ArrowThe Flash, Gotham, ConstantineiZombieAgents Of SHIELD, Daredevil...) it would be easy for Powers, a live-action series based on the superhero noir series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming now published by Marvel, to be lost among the throng.

Ensuring the show's visuals stand out from the crowd will be director David Slade, who's joined the Sony PlayStation TV series to establish Powers' look and direct the first two episodes.

Slade was amongst those who created Hannibal's distinctive style, after his debut feature, 2005's Hard Candy, and follow-up 30 Days Of Night, impressed showrunner Bryan Fuller. More recently, Slade has directed a Twilight film - Eclipse -, an episode of Breaking Bad, and the pilot for the Jason Isaacs-starring US drama Awake.
