Sue Vertue has confirmed that plans are afoot for a 3-day Sherlock Convention to take place in Europe and the USA this year...

They couldn't very well call it anything else could they? Sherlocked is to be the first official convention for the BBC's Sherlock, and will take place later this year, producer Sue Vertue has confirmed.

It's to be a three-day event, and has been in the planning since mid-2013. According to super fansite Sherlockology (fine people any self-respecting Sherlock fan should know well), those three days will contain activities, cast and crew guests, talks, photo shoots, autograph sessions, merchandise and more. The usual convention kit and kaboodle, then.

Here's what Sue Vertue had to say about the news:

"We're very excited to be announcing our first official Sherlock convention for later in the year, aptly named SHERLOCKED. Massive Events have been pestering me for ages to get a date for this in the schedule but we wanted to make sure that we had the time and energy to make it a great, high quality and fun event, and now we have! Watch this space."

The event is set to take place in both Europe and the USA, though the details and practicalities of that are yet to be announced. As it's being run by Massive Entertainment, Sherlockology recommend that you sign up here to be kept fully informed of all news and developments. We told you they were nice folk.
