Director and cast announced for Scream TV show pilot
The televisual remake of Scream brings in Jamie Travis, Willa FitzGerald and more…
Remaking Scream for TV is an intriguing choice – with terrifying telly sometimes feeling like a thing of the past, it could be really enjoyable if done right.
Today we learnt that the director and cast have now been confirmed for the pilot episode. Behind the camera is Jamie Travis, director of five Faking It episodes and 2012 feature For A Good Time, Call. It’ll be interesting to see what he brings to the show.
Willa Fitzgerald, of Royal Pains and Alpha House, will play Emma – described as “a classic beauty whose life with the in crowd leaves her estranged from childhood best friend Audrey”. This jilted BFF and wannabe filmmaker will be played by Amy Forsyth (who has decent horror chops from Torment and the upcoming A Christmas Horror Story.)
Additionally, Premature’s John Karna has been cast as pop culture reference-maker and convenient computer genius Noah, while Amadeus Serafini will play the role of “mysterious new kid” Kieran and Carlson Young will be leader of the group Brooke Maddox.
With the Weinsteins and Wes Craven all involved in the project, this sounds like it could be a real treat, as long as it’s done right. More news as we hear it…
