Cobie Smulders in "definite talks" for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Maria Hill could well be appearing in Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. alongside Agent Coulson...
On the press circuit for the latest Nicholas Sparks weepie, Safe Haven (mysterious girl/dark secret/smalltown America/love is the only safe haven etc), Cobie Smulders was pressed on her involvement in forthcoming Marvel projects Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Avengers 2 and ABC production, Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.
As we know, Smulders, who played integral S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in The Avengers, is confirmed to be reprising the role for the Captain America sequel which is due to start filming in late spring, and will almost certainly be back for 2015's The Avengers 2. What about a small screen appearance for Hill though?
According to Smulders, the planned schedule for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D., currently filming its pilot episode, would mesh with the actress' work on sitcom How I Met Your Mother. "The commitments [to HIMYM] don't affect it. And I can't really say, but there are definite talks about it."
"Definite talks" is more than Samuel L. Jackson was willing to confirm in late 2012, but if S.H.I.E.L.D. receives a season order (something of a foregone conclusion to hear ABC boss Paul Lee tell it), we'd be mightily surprised if both Fury and Hill don't make an appearance.
