Agents Of SHIELD season 2 moved 1 hour back in ABC schedule

Agents Of SHIELD season 2 will be airing on Tuesday nights at 9pm on ABC in the US from the autumn...

ABC has announced its autumn schedule, which sees Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. pushed back an hour on Tuesday nights. Sixty minutes of new comedy will lead into the return of the MCU spin-off show.

Whether S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new 9pm time slot will give the show more scope for darker content remains to be seen.

Here in the UK, Channel 4 recently announced that it would indeed be "continuing the Friday night treat" and airing S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season. We'll have to wait to see whether C4 will follow suit and push S.H.I.E.L.D. into the primetime position on Friday nights.

ABC also confirmed that the recently commissioned Agent Carter series would fill S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midseason gap in their schedule, meaning we can expect a ten-thirteen week hole in the middle of season two. Following the unpopularity of Channel 4's long post-Christmas wait for S.H.I.E.L.D. to return, we can only see one solution for this: the UK Channel will simply have to snap up the rights to Agent Carter to bridge the gap. All those in favour say aye!

SKYE - I mean AYE!

"Mid-season break" must be my most hated phrase in television.

Other than maybe "Has been cancelled" - which tends to be assigned to shows I love an awful lot*, like Sarah Connor Chronicles and Almost Human.

(*before anyone says it, I didn't like Firefly :p)

I agree. I like to think of them as end of seasons. But what annoys me more is the American habit of showing 4 weeks of new episodes then having a mini 2 week break then back for three, then break. I can see why Netflix Binge Watching is so popular.

"meaning we can expect a ten-thirteen week hole in the middle of season two."
oh sheet.
