Clark Gregg: Agent Coulson mystery "worth waiting for"

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns today in the US with an episode that finally answers the Agent Coulson mystery...

In all this talk of flappy-coated detectives rising Lazarus-like from the grave, the matter of The Avengers' Agent Coulson, who pulled a similar trick between the 2012 film and 2013 TV series, Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., has fallen by the wayside.

As its title tells us, episode eleven of S.H.I.E.L.D.The Magical Place, promises to reveal the truth about the Agent Coulson mystery.

Actor Clark Gregg - as you'd expect he might be - is full of praise for the revelation, telling Zap2It fans will find it "satisfying". "People have been patient in really wanting to know the true nature of the secrets. [...] We're going to get a big fat window at the real truth, and it's going to be very, very surprising. When I read the sequence, I just stopped and put the script down and went 'Wow. That was worth waiting for.'"

Be the judge of that yourselves, tonight on ABC in the US.

Any idea when this is back on Channel 4 in the UK? I'd assumed it'd be on this Friday, but unless I've misread the listings it doesn't seem to be.

A listings search on Sky show the only repeats on E4 being shown over the next week or so. :/

Hmmm, sounds like a torrent of issues for UK viewers.

Haha, was that torrent related pun intentional? Good one if so!

It was. It's the inevitable consequence of delays with C4's airing of the show.

To be fair to C4 they may be holding back a few weeks so they can give the show a straight run to the end of the season without having weeks off here and there, but geeks are generally impatient about their TV viewing.

But aren't there only 2 (or 3 if you believe IMDB) episodes outstanding? If we've got to wait for the "full" season of 22 episodes to be complete, that might be a while as it was only picked up by the network in October.

It better be worth waiting for. If it blows this then the future for this show looks bleak.

I wonder if resolving the big mystery is an indication that the show may 'die' due to critical reception after season 1 afterall?

I assumed it is a mid-season break

I bet they don't.

Wasn't Avengers released in 2012, not 2011?
Interesting though. I hope there really is some form of big reveal. I also want to know more about Project Centipede, this episode seems a good time to reveal something about them.

For once this is something I'll be happy to simply read on the internet. After watching the first episode I had no inclination to return to the series whatsoever, and there's no chance I'm going to sit through 10 episodes of the same just to find out how he survived. The show really needed more of a hook than that.

No return for AoS in the UK this week, with no statement on the Channel 4 website on when it will return. Once again, Channel 4 returns to form, showing total disregard for a Sci-Fi show, or the audience. Why am I not surprised? (Anyone else remember how they treated Babylon 5?)

Agreed, I stayed with it for about 6 eps but was struggling through it the whole time :-( Shame

I no longer use this email address (as of November 2013).

I will still be collecting email from this account for a while, so should get your message.

Please contact me via other means to get my new email address if you don't already have it.

I think I got as far as episode 3 - so you're twice the person I am!

If it turns out to be clone, LMD or Shi'ar related I'll be disappointed. My money is on Magic and a connection to either Stephen Strange or one of the Infinity gems, ultimately tying in with movie phase 3.

March is apparently when AoS returns.

That's an intorrentable delay [cough] sorry ...
