New Syfy show Helix has added Star Trek: Voyager's Jeri Ryan to its regular cast...

Arriving next year on Syfy is thriller Helix, executive produced by Battlestar Galactica's Ron D. Moore, and telling the story of a virus outbreak at an isolated Arctic research facility.

Joining the cast as the COO of the Corporation that owns the research lab (boo! hiss! probably) is Star Trek: Voyager's Jeri Ryan, who'll be playing "beautiful and charismatic" Constance Sutton, described in the official press bumpf as "charming and savvy" and "used to getting her own way at any cost".

Ryan is to appear in a multi-episode arc and joins The Killing's Billy Campbell, The Wolverine's Hiroyuki Sanada, Supernatural's Kyra Zagorsky and more in the new thirteen-part series, which promises a "terrifying life-and-death struggle that may hold the key to mankind's salvation or total annihilation." Exciting stuff.
