Jamie Foxx horror anthology series coming to Syfy

Django Unchained's lead is set to write, direct, executive-produce and star in a new five-part Syfy horror anthology...

Short of writing the theme tune and singing the theme tune (a Little Britain/Dennis Waterman nod for up-to-the-minute reference spotters, there), Jamie Foxx is planning to write, direct, executive produce, and star in a new five-part horror anthology series due to air on Syfy around this Halloween.

Described by Collider as a riff on Tales from the Crypt and The Twilight Zone, the new post-Night Tales Foxxhole project will comprise "truly scary cautionary tales" according to Syfy's President of Original Content, Mark Stern. Anthology horror and sci-fi series are a particular favourite of many around these parts, so we'll certainly be keeping an eye on this one.

On the subject of the new series, Foxx has warned viewers to "get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows... maybe I'll make a guest appearance or two along the way!". We are ready to lose it Mr Foxx, you just tell us when and where.

I'd rather you didn't Jamie.

I like Jamie Foxx. He always cracked me up even before achieving, yes, greatness, all the way back to in living color and then the jamie foxx show. He's A list, not since Ray, since Collateral. It probably helps that I used to listen to R&b, it's changed so I don't anymore, but my point is he's versatile. And he just might "shock" you, come Spider-Man 2.

Is he going to have a Magic Torch?
