The mid-season orders are coming in thick and fast, with The CW’s Beauty And The Beast and Syfy’s Haven granted future episodes…

Following in the footsteps of the network’s Arrow, The CW’s Beauty And The Beast starring Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan is its latest new show to be given a full twenty-two episode season order. That means nine further episodes of the updated adventures of Catherine and Vincent are on their way.

The remake of the original eighties show (Ron Perlman! In a wig!) is currently attracting around 1.8 million viewers per week, around half the audience of DC Comics adaptation Arrow, which turned in 3.75 million for its most recent episode.

Syfy’s Haven, currently airing its third season and averaging 1.5 million weekly US viewers, has also been guaranteed a future run with thirteen new episodes ordered for its fourth series. Loosely based on a Stephen King short story, Haven is the tale of a small Maine town packed with unusually troubled residents. Newcomers may like to read our introduction here.
