New Gotham teaser feat. young Bruce Wayne

Trailer Louisa Mellor 10 Jul 2014 - 07:45

Jim Gordon meets Bruce Wayne for the first time in this new teaser for forthcoming Fox show, Gotham...

"However dark and scary the world might be right now, there will be light. There will be light"

That's what you think, Jim Gordon, we've seen Chris Nolan's trilogy.

Keeping the Gotham pot on the boil until its autumn premiere on Fox is this new 'hero'-themed teaser which shows fans the very first meeting between a certain Detective Gordon and a certain young Bruce Wayne. That's thirty seconds of iconic prequel between a superhero wrapped in a blanket and a moustache-less young idealist right there.

I can't be the only one who constantly see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Gordon in these trailers...

It's on Fox. How has this not been
cancelled yet? Oh yeah, it looks terrible, so they'll probably run it
for eleven years... If only Firefly wasn't so interesting and
complex!

Terrible? The reaction by the critics who have seen it has been very positive.

It appears that DC seems to be making the better tv series (than films atm), although Marvel's SHEILD was pretty awesome. This however looks dark and moody and everything i expect from DC. Arrow continues and Flash is coming up... I can only hope good things for this! :) (It'll probably get cancelled mid-season now that I have said that!)

Yawn, yeah yeah, Firefly, give it a rest already. You haven't seen a single episode but it's terrible because it isn't a pretty run of the mill, mediocre sf program that was cancelled years ago.

Firefly wasn't anything near terrible!
But what I have to give you is the massive burn that Fox gets. OK, they cancelled Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Jane Chronicles and Almost Human, but they kept Fringe (5 seasons) and The X-Files (9 seasons + 3 spin off seasons) going and gives new scifi another chance in Gotham. That's a lot more than CBS has done in years, and I can't forgive CBS for cancelling Eleventh Hour (US) and Threshold (the show that had Dinklage before GoT).

That looks more interesting than I had first imagined. Not so much the James Gordon detective show than Batmans Smallville. Fingers crossed.

I still wish they'd gone with a "Gotham Central" sort of show, rather than a prequel series.

Just worry that there's going to be a lot of clumsy crowbarring in of 'names' from the Batman pantheon. The day a young Joker appears, before Batman, is the day the series somersaults over the shark on a bat-jetski.

Wouldn't it be great if, when they screened it, the show was actually a prequel to the Adam West era Batman? The collective sound of jaws hitting the floor alone would be worth it :)

I, for one, would like to see the origin of Bat-Shark repellent...

I think the main point of it is to see how Gotham becomes overrun with crime, so it makes sense to have people like Penguin in there.
