HBO orders Game Of Thrones seasons 5 and 6
In news that surprises nobody, HBO has ordered at least 2 further seasons of its enormous hit, Game Of Thrones...
About as surprising as gravity is the news that HBO will be making more seasons of enormous international ratings hit, Game Of Thrones. It was officially confirmed last night that the cable network had ordered at least two further seasons of the fantasy drama, which has just begun airing its fourth season.
Seasons five and six having moved from the 'definitely happening' to the 'definitely, definitely happening' pile, Game Of Thrones fans can rest easy. George R. R. Martin on the other hand, may well be having a few sleepless nights over the increasingly likely prospect of David Benioff and D.B Weiss' TV series overtaking the narrative of his A Song Of Ice And Fire novels. As many have pointed out, it may well be the case that TV viewers are soon the ones having to conceal spoilers from ASoIaF readers.
Benioff and Weiss had earlier discussed plans to end the show around season seven or eight (our money's, somewhat cynically, on the later), so this news takes us well into the final stretch for the series.
