Game Of Thrones season 4 episode titles announced

The first four episode titles for Game Of Thrones' fourth season are as follows...

It's time for those who've read George R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire saga to nod sagely, stroke their chin and adopt an air of knowing mystery: the first four episode titles for Game Of Thrones season four have been announced.

First up comes Two Swords, then it's The Lion And The Rose, then Breaker Of Chains, and then Oathkeeper. Hands to chins and altogether now, "Hmmmmm..."

If you don't want to join in the spoiler-y spectulation, look away now.

Of the four, two in particular promise major events. The second surely refers to the 'purple wedding' between King Joffrey (The Lion of Lannister) and Margaery Tyrell (The Rose of Highgarden), while the third promises some Meereenese action from Daenerys Targaryen and pals. That said, there are also other chains to be broken by a prisoner in season four...

The first and fourth seem to refer to the swords forged from Ice of the House Stark, Widow-Maker and Oathkeeper, given respectively to Joffrey and Jaime Lannister. We can also expect some Brienne focus in episode four, we'd have thought.

Game Of Thrones season four starts on HBO on Sunday the 6th and on Sky Atlantic on Monday the 7th of April.

I wholly concur with all your speculation and allthough I think the ep3 title refers to Dany I think it'll be Mereen action we'll see there. If they follow ASOS closely then ep3 will be right for that particular event. (not sure how much I can spoil here so I'm keeping it vague)

Quite right, Meereen it is - updated, ta!

From behind my steepled fingers and furrowed brow, I draw the same conclusions.
And it's times like this when our ability to hold our tongues is truly tested.

Looks like they are going to be in briennes AFFC storyline quite early if she's getting oath keeper in ep 4! Could they perhaps have her meet LSH at the end of the series? That be her reveal instead of one of the freys in the woods?
Also with the purple wedding in ep2 they are going to be dragging out the trial for a lot of the series as I reckon the viper vs the mountain will be ep8. Not sure about that, don't remember there being that much material to cover 6 eps

true--and while Im also a bit surprised that "the purple wedding" seems to occur so early( but we have to remember that this is the 2nd half of book 3, NOT a new book) there are a LOT of other things going on to fill the episodes--Dany & her dragons & her ongoing growth into learning how to rule, the Wildlings attack on the Wall, Bran & his journery( i wonder if they are gonna omit "Coldhands" entirely?--seems odd if they do), the Theon plotline, and of course--everyone's favorite little girl with a needle--Arya's storyline. and yeah--the meeting with LSH has to come at or near the END of the season(the infamous Ep 9 perhaps?) as THAT will be yet another WTF moment for the non book readers.

I reckon they are combing all the battles at the wall into one, David Marshall (who directed the black water episode) is directing 9, and he has said it will be 3 battles... So methinks from behind with tormund, in front from mance and then te cavalry charge at the end.
I also hope they don't omit cold hands, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. And if LSH isn't the last shot of the whole series they have missed a great trick. The last episode, I hope, will just be lifted directly from the book. Jon, tyrion Tywin and shae, only cat, LSH. Would be amazing

They're going with the wedding this early? Half season fina... I've said too much.

(Spoiler) It has been said that tyrion spends most of the season in chains. that means the wedding has to be early.

(spoilerish vibe) What i wonder about is, the Tyrion and Shae relationship. Will it end the same? I hope so, but they may chicken out.
