New Game Of Thrones Iceland promo

Game Of Thrones' Iceland contingent had a very different experience filming this season to the last...

While we're not in the habit of posting every behind-the-scenes featurette trickled out by a show's marketing department, these glimpses into the making of Game Of Thrones, though short, are almost always worth a look.

This one, entitled 'Intensity Of Iceland', is a ninety second glimpse of how season four's Icelandic locations have undergone a dramatic change because of the difference in season. Usually, filming there takes place in November, hence the snowy vistas and glacier backdrops. For season four, the Iceland unit visited during the summer, which has endowed the new episodes with a very different setting.

Game Of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday the 6th and to Sky Atlantic on Monday the 7th of April.

Winter is Coming! Look at all these promos! 6 weeks away!

I'm getting the new bluray after work. Watched Blackwater last night. Woot.

This is the craziest amount of promo material for a show that doesn't come back for another month and a half... and I am lapping up every second of it like a junkie after a fix. (Also, this explains why Maisie Williams was in Iceland, which I was wondering about, plot-wise. I guess they ran out of Northern Ireland - it's beautiful but small and they've filmed all over it!).
