New characters arrive in Game Of Thrones season 3 promo

The latest promo video for Game Of Thrones' third season shows off its impressive roster of new characters and sets...

"We kill a lot of characters, but for every character we kill, we add two more"

"Bold scenes", in the words of Diana Rigg, and "tremendous reversals of fortunes" are what this new promo video tells us to expect from Game of Thrones' third season, the part of George R.R.Martin's story that showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss have been itching to tell since day one.

Below you'll see a glimpse of Ciaran Hinds as King-Beyond-The-Wall Mance Rayder, more of Rigg as Lady Olenna, Paul Kaye as Thoros of Myr, Clive Russell as Ser Brynden Tully, Thomas Sangster as Jojen Reed, a peak at the new Riverrun sets, and a whisp of Dany's belligerance across the Narrow Sea...

Game Of Thrones returns to HBO on the 31st of March, and to Sky Atlantic on the 1st of April.

This could easily be the best series yet. The first half of the third book (which is actually one book on it's own in my two-part paperbacks) is incredible, as is the second half (which is likely series four). There was a slight, SLIGHT lull, I thought, in series two, mostly with the changes in Daenerys' plot, which were unnecessary, and the way Robb's relationship with Talisa came off more selfish and bratty than honourable. But this should be when GoT hits its stride. This should be monumental fantasy television that blows the first series out of the water. Bring it on, I say!
