Knowing that the US premiere was due to go out on Sunday the 31st of March, the smart money was always on Monday the 1st of April for the UK airing of the Game of Thrones season three opener, and that bet has now paid off. Sky Atlantic has confirmed that Sky-viewing UK audiences will return to Westeros at 9pm on the 1st of April.
Handily, Sky Atlantic subscribers looking for a season two refresher in preparation for the new episodes will be able to see the complete second series on the channel starting on Monday the 21st of January.
Joining the cast for season three are Ciaran Hinds, Diana Rigg, Iwan Rheon, Mackenzie Crook, Clive Russell, Paul Kaye, Ellie Kendrick and Tara Fitzgerald, to name just a few. The ten-episode series was once again filmed in Northern Ireland, Croatia, Iceland and Morocco, and will cover approximately the first half of George R.R. Martin's A Storm of Swords.
