The Kumars' Sanjeev Bhaskar has Tweeted about filming Doctor Who series 8 with Peter Capaldi...

UPDATE: The BBC has officially confirmed that Bhaskar will be appearing in the series eight finale. Read more about it, here.

This one comes straight from the horse's mouth, well, Twitter account. Actor and writer Sanjeev Bhaskar (Goodness Gracious MeThe Kumars At No. 42The Indian Doctor) Tweeted the following not hours ago:

"So. I can finally reveal that I've spent part of this week flying about w/ this guy " The Tweet was accompanied, for clarity, by a Peter Capaldi pic.

Though the as-yet-undisclosed guest role will be Bhaskar's first in the TV series, the actor previously provided the voice of Dr Avishka Sangakkara in Eighth Doctor Big Finish Audio Adventures The Eight Truths and Worldwide Web.

Doctor Who is also keeping it in the family with this particular guest star, who happens to be married to actress and writer Meera Syal, aka Dr Nasreen Chaudhry in two-parter The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood.

As the article itself suggests, this feels like one of those "why hasn't this happened already?" announcements. He's one of those actors you feel would be a Who veteran by now.

"Time travel, Indian!"

Kiss my chuddies, Cyberman!

They should produce a couple of episodes in India. I couldn't imagine it being too expensive to film over there. I'd love to see the Doctor do a Bollywood style dance at the end of the episode.

I think I'd like to see an episode set around the time of the British Empire, in India. That could be fun.
