Matt Smith teases Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who storylines

News Simon Brew 9 May 2014 - 07:51

Matt Smith has been chatting about the incoming Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who...

Whilst Peter Capaldi is hard at work filming Doctor Who series 8, his predecessor in the title role, Matt Smith, is hardly putting his feet up. He was cast last week in the new trilogy of Terminator films, and he's also been in Calgary, making an appearance at the Calgary Expo.

Whilst there, he revealed that he's been chatting to Steven Moffat to get a heads up on the next series of Doctor Who. And appreciating he's hardly likely to say that it all sounds rubbish, Smith sounds very positive. "I've got a deep seated jealousy", he admitted. "I rang Steven Moffat up the other day and found out everything about the new series. It sounds really good. I was really jealous actually", he said.

Specifically talking about Capaldi's take on the Doctor, Smith said that he "will be different, and it will be a different show and it will be a new show and that's what Doctor Who is about, and I've got to let it go. And the great thing about it is everyone has their own Doctor".

Smith will be on the big screen later in the year too in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River.

Doctor Who returns to our screens in the autumn.

I think you've got your headlines mixed up. The headline for this article should be "Matt Smith doesn't say anything very interesting at all",

As there was absolutely no mention of 'storylines' or 'story' or even 'lines' in this piece I can only assume that the article to which the 'teases storylines' headline refers is elsewhere?

Of course, this may just be shameless, deceitful click-baiting but I'd like to think DoG hasn't stooped that low and this is a simple cock-up.

The Doctor lies......

To add to the cynicism, the video of that Expo talk has been up on YouTube for nearly a fortnight, so even for non-newsworthy news it's hardly new. I took his "found out everything about the new series" remark to be a joke, as they were discussing spoiler secrecy at the time.

Still, we all click on Doctor Who news don't we? Guilty.

Smith in the new Terminator films?

No thanks.

What a pointless article. Dr who bait to nothing
