Matt Smith teases Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who storylines
Matt Smith has been chatting about the incoming Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who...
Whilst Peter Capaldi is hard at work filming Doctor Who series 8, his predecessor in the title role, Matt Smith, is hardly putting his feet up. He was cast last week in the new trilogy of Terminator films, and he's also been in Calgary, making an appearance at the Calgary Expo.
Whilst there, he revealed that he's been chatting to Steven Moffat to get a heads up on the next series of Doctor Who. And appreciating he's hardly likely to say that it all sounds rubbish, Smith sounds very positive. "I've got a deep seated jealousy", he admitted. "I rang Steven Moffat up the other day and found out everything about the new series. It sounds really good. I was really jealous actually", he said.
Specifically talking about Capaldi's take on the Doctor, Smith said that he "will be different, and it will be a different show and it will be a new show and that's what Doctor Who is about, and I've got to let it go. And the great thing about it is everyone has their own Doctor".
Smith will be on the big screen later in the year too in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River.
Doctor Who returns to our screens in the autumn.
