Tom Riley signs up for a Mark Gatiss-penned adventure in Doctor Who series 8...

A new guest star has been added to the line-up for the currently-shooting Doctor Who series 8, with Tom Riley confirmed for a guest slot.

Riley is going to appear on one of the two episodes being penned for the new series by Mark Gatiss. Somewhat inevitably, that's all the information that the BBC is giving us at the moment, Thus, Riley's exact role remains a mystery.

His previous credits? Glad you asked. They include Twenty Twelve, St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold (along with David Tennant) and Da Vinci's Demons (where he plays Leonardo Da Vinci).

Doctor Who returns to our screens in the autumn.

CROSSSOOOVVVEERRRR!!!!!!

Wait! Isn't Julie Gardner not a ex producer of Doctor Who and a producer of Da Vinci's Demons? BBC and Starz, you've worked together before, make this crossover happen!

Made my day. Day, probably my whole month! :)

dalek fodder.

I was hoping he'd be playing Michaelangelo...or Raphael...or any of the turtles...

I have wondered the same thing myself.

They work together before, it was goddamn awful series of torchwood.
