Doctor Who: The TARDIS

Keeley Hawes will be playing a villain in the upcoming series of Doctor Who...

The latest addition to the roster of guest stars for Doctor Who series 8 is Keeley Hawes, currently riding high off the back of her career-best performance in the excellent Line Of Duty (if you've not been watching Line Of Duty series two, it really is extremely good).

Hawes is set to join Doctor Who as a character called Ms Delphox. She's being described as "a powerful out of this world character with a dark secret". The Doctor and Jenna are set to encounter her on "a strange and puzzling planet".

Hawes is set to land in the episode that's being penned by Sherlock scribe Steve Thompson, currently scheduled to be episode five in Doctor Who series 8.

Steven Moffat said that "anyone watching Jed Mercurio's amazing Line Of Duty will know that Keeley Hawes is having one hell of year. And now it's about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on Doctor Who: she plays a banker".

A picture of Hawes as Ms Delphox has been released too, and you can see it just below...
