Sin City and Gimme Shelter's Rosario Dawson has joined Marvel's Netflix Daredevil series...

So far, each of the casting decisions for Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series have been met by a firm nod from us. Charlie Cox as the lead? Nod. Vincent D'Onofrio as the villain? Nod. The latest smart choice for the forthcoming online series is Sin City's Rosario Dawson. Nod. Nod. Nod.

It's not yet been announced exactly who Dawson will be playing in Daredevil, or indeed, whether her role will come from Marvel canon or a new addition to Hell's Kitchen. Her official character write-up is as follows:

"Rosario Dawson will play a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city." So far, so vague. As Marvel is calling Dawson a "guest star" not a regular in the series, we can expect her appearance to be limited.

We also learnt recently that Doctor Who and Luther director Farren Blackburn (The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe, The Rings Of Akhatan) will be behind the camera for at least one of Daredevil's thirteen episodes, working with showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, who joined the series after Drew Goddard's departure.
