Vincent D'Onofrio cast as Kingpin in Daredevil series
Joining Charlie Cox in Netflix's Daredevil series will be Law & Order's Vincent D'Onofrio in the role of villain Kingpin...
Despite some kerfuffle behind the scenes when Drew Goddard departed to pursue his Spider-Man Sinister Six interests, Netflix's Daredevil series isn't shaping up half bad, on the casting front at least. First of all Boardwalk Empire's Charlie Cox was picked to don the red suit, and now Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio will be wearing the massive white one in the role of cigar-chomping magnate villain, Kingpin.
Full Metal Jacket's D'Onofrio will be playing Wilson Fisk, the super-sized businessman who comes into conflict with blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his Daredevil alterego in New York's Hell's Kitchen.
The plan for the Netflix original series is for a thirteen-episode standalone Daredevil story, which will lead to similar for other Marvel heroes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. About to begin production this summer (using Drew Goddard's scripts intact for the first two episodes, according to reports), Daredevil is due to arrive on Netflix in 2015.
