Da Vinci's Demons renewed for season 3

Starz has ordered another season of David S. Goyer's Renaissance adventure series, Da Vinci's Demons...

David S.Goyer's gamble on historical fiction for Starz appears to be paying off. The US network is fresh from ordering a third season of Da Vinci's Demons. Currently nearing the end of its globe-trotting second run, the show following the life of a young Leonardo da Vinci, has paid dividends to Starz and Fox here in the UK.

Much of Da Vinci's Demons' second season takes place outside the Renaissance Rome and Florence locations of the first as Leonardo and co. travel to the Americas. Goyer has revealed plans for several future seasons incorporating real characters from history rendered with his own inimitable imaginative twist.

Replacing Goyer as showrunner on the third ten-episode season will be The X-Files and Breaking Bad's John Shiban, who'll take the reins whilst the Da Vinci's Demons creator busies himself with the Justice League and more. More news as it arrives.

So, is this show any good then DoG? Give me a summary and sell it to me!

The show had a wonderful 1st season, with fast paced episodes covering individual stories and characters, but has lost a fair amount of wind in the 2nd one, trying to cram most of them into a single spanning story.

Regardless, this is good news.

It's lovely if you know nothing about Leonardo DaVinci or history in general.
