Due to start in the UK this Friday, David S.Goyer's Da Vinci's Demons has already been granted a second season order by US network Starz...

These are the kind of tidings we like to be the bearer of. Da Vinci's Demons, the new David S. Goyer series set in fifteenth century Florence and based upon the heavily re-imagined exploits of a young Leonardo (Tom Riley), has already been green lit for a second season after airing just one episode in the US.

At over 2.14 million viewers, the season one opener (read our spoiler-free review, here) attracted Starz' highest premiere numbers to date, guaranteeing a second eight-part season order for the handsome drama.

Last month, lead Tom Riley assured us that creator David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel) had plans for seasons two, three, four and more in his cavernous geek-friendly mind, so there's no fear of getting attached to this one, and then burnt by early cancellation. Settle in and enjoy, because more is on the way.

Da Vinci's Demons starts in the UK this Friday the 19th of April at 10pm on Fox. Read our cast interviews with Tom Riley, Laura Haddock, Lara Pulver and Blake Ritson, here.
