Bryan Singer developing Pacific Rim-style TV series for Syfy
Bryan Singer is working on a 90-minute pilot for Creature At Bay, about the military tackling a Pacific Rim-style monster...
It would take a great deal of skill and, crucially, cash for a TV project to even approach the look and scale of this year's hugely impressive Pacific Rim, which may be why this planned Kaiju-themed Syfy show is focusing on the post-battle clean-up rather than the take-down.
Syfy is teaming up with X-Men: Days of Future Past's Bryan Singer to develop Creature At Bay, a series that takes place "in the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature - a modern-day 'Kaiju' monster - just off the Northern California coast". In it, "a middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world."
Singer and his Bad Hat Harry Productions is currently working on a ninety-minute pilot for the in-development series. More Kaij on screen? Where do we sign?
