Angelica Celaya has taken the role of Zed in NBC's forthcoming Constantine series...

When it was announced that Lucy Griffith's character, Liv, was being written out of NBC's Constantine, the search was on for a new female lead. Said search has now ended, settling on Mexican-American actress, Angelica Celaya.

Celaya will play the role of Mary "Zed" Martin in Constantine, a character familiar to Hellblazer readers as John's sometime love interest and Pagan sorceress. The actress has appeared previously in a number of Spanish-language TV series including Gabriel, and English-language series Burn Notice and the recently revived Dallas.

Zed is described as an artist in the official bumf for the new series, due to air on NBC on Friday the 24th of October.
