Community season 6 will air on Yahoo Screen

It's done it. Community has survived cancellation and will air a sixth season on Yahoo's streaming service...

Those who watched nervously as the June 30th deadline (when the Community cast contracts were due to expire) approached can stop biting their fingernails. Community is indeed coming back for a sixth season, this time airing on on-demand streaming service, Yahoo Screen.

In a surprise last-minute deal, Sony has sold thirteen new episodes of the Dan Harmon sitcom to Yahoo. The series creator, Dan Harmon, made this announcement: "I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!” (er, don't Google the latter if you're at work, it's pretty much how it sounds...).

Actor Joel McHale added, "Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It's the internet. We can swear now.”

NBC cancelled Community after its fifth season in March. This latest renewal takes the show one step closer to achieving that well-worn "six seasons and a movie" fan mantra.

I am immortal. I have inside me blood of kings!

Woohoo! The series deserves a proper send off and bring these characters to their proper conclusions

Get Troy back for a few episodes too... Since Buzz Hickey isnt back, I would suggest to Harmon if he is reading, bring back Koogler for an episode and Mike Myers as a guest star. With Pierce gone we need a comic up to Chevy levels

Cool Cool Cool.

YEAAAAAAAAAH!!!

I'm am so happy that we don't live in the darkest timeline ( no matter how cool it looked)

So... what is Yahoo Screen? Yahoo's answer to Netflix, Amazone Prime and Hulu is presume? It also seems that they will actually get that movie.

'...I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online...' on Yahoo Screen?
Happy it is getting another season (and a movie), while not up to par with the first few seasons, 5 was still very enjoyable.

HELL YEAH!! We get to see Annies boobs again!

Who said Buzz Hickey isn't back?

...and a movie!

Gah - its almost almost to make a comedy that can stay funny past 20ish episodes. America needs to learn from the British when it comes to comedy - short seasons, and not too many of them, with eitehr a single writer or a team of 2 - no writers' room, no 20+ episode seasons, no season 5. tahst how you make a classic.
There is lierally no American comedy that has sustained my interest past a dozen or so episodes - even those I considered to be brilliant - comedy just doesn't have the staying power of drama.
British drama shows have too few episodes, American coemdies have too many.

*fistpump* YEAH!

We definitely need Troy back even if it is for the last couple of episodes

Six seasons and a movie!

The world just got a little better...... Season 4 and 5 were a little below par compared to 1 - 3. Hopefully this will be a return to form.
