Nolan Funk will appear as Felicity Smoak’s former boyfriend in Arrow season 3…

As CW prepares for the third season of Arrow, they’ve been adding to their cast considerably.

As well as Brandon Routh as the Atom, JR Ramirez as Wildcat, a new Count Vertigo in Peter Stomare, David Cubitt’s Manhunter and the introduction of Ra’s al Ghul as the main villain, Arrow has now added Glee alumnus Nolan Funk.

Funk also cameoed in X-Men 2 and appeared as Luna in 2013’s Riddick, meaning he has more geek cred than you may have expected. It’s worth remembering that Grant Gustin (soon-to-be the Flash) was also a Glee star, and fared very well in the show.

Funk will play Cooper Seldon (not to be confused with Sheldon Cooper), Felicity Smoak’s ex-boyfriend, in the fifth new episode The Secret Origin Of Felicity Smoak.

Felicity’s mother has also been cast, with Charlotte Ross – another Glee cast-member – taking on the role. We look forward to learning more about Felicity.

Arrow returns on the 8th of October in the US. More news as we hear it.
