UPDATED: Is Amanda Waller joining Arrow's second season?
Suicide Squad leader Amanda Waller is rumoured to be joining The CW's Arrow for its second season, but who could play her?
UPDATE: Yes, she is, in the form of Spartacus and The Vampire Diaries actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson. TV Guide has revealed that Addai-Robinson will be taking on the potentially recurring role, starting from episode six of Arrow's second season.
Contains mild plot spoilers for Arrow season two.
Rumoured to be joining fellow newcomers Isabel Rochev, Bronze Tiger, and Black Canary in Arrow's second season will be Suicide Squad and A.R.G.U.S. leader, Amanda Waller, forging yet another bond between Arrow and its DC-inspirations.
Dr Waller (as her doctorate in Political Science demands we call her) has led the Suicide Squad at various points in DC history, and was described by Coming Soon as the DCU's equivalent to Marvel's Nick Fury, but "with a sinister side". In her first Arrow appearance, it's being reported that Waller will send out an A.R.G.U.S. (Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans) team to kidnap Diggle.
Casting for the character, played by the wonderful Angela Bassett in 2011's Green Lantern, has not yet been announced (nor indeed, has her appearance been officially confirmed), but we'll keep you posted.
