ABC is close to ordering the Agent Carter series, according to industry rumours...

If - and it's currently a big if despite the recent uptick in quality - Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is renewed for a second season, then ABC is very likely to order Agent Carter straight to series, according to Deadline.

The idea would be for Agent Carter, which would see Hayley Atwell reprise her Captain America and Marvel One Shot role as Peggy Carter, to run for thirteen weeks bridging the scheduling gap between the autumn and spring portions of S.H.I.E.L.D.

There's been some suggestion from Captain America screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely that the plan for 40s-set sci-fi action series Agent Carter is to have one main villain and one main case in the first season. If all goes well, Agent Carter could start afresh with a new threat next year.
