Dr Who's triple triumph
Moffat goes for the hat trick at the Hugo awards and comes back with yet more accolades and awards for Blink...
The Doctor Who episode 'Blink' joins 'The Empty Child' and 'The Girl In The Fireplace' for the third Hugo Award in as many years. A real coup for Steven Moffat, whose story trounced a Torchwood episode that was also in the running.
The Hugo Awards are a yearly recognition of the best in Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels, short stories, fanzines, and non-fiction writings. Winners are chosen annually by Worldcon (The World Science Fiction Convention). This latest was the 66th convention gathering.
Blink's award fell under the 'Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form' category. Other contenders in the category were Battlestar Galactica episode "Razor" and Doctor Who "Human Nature" / "Family of Blood". For more also-rans and winners in the other categories see thehugoawards.org.
