Published on Apr 26, 2009
For the first time in high definition, Paramount has released the first six Star Trek movies – the ones, as you probably know, with the original cast – onto Blu-ray.
All six of the films have been digitally remastered in high definition, and each features a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio track. Furthermore, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan has been fully-restored.
The seven-disc set also includes over 14 hours of special features, over two and a half hours of which is being seen for the first time on the Blu-ray collection. The seventh disc, incidentally, is given over to Star Trek: The Captain’s Summit, which is a 70 minute round-table discussion with William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes. Whoopi Goldberg is the host.
All six of the films comes with multiple commentary tracks, and a BD-Live Star Trek IQ feature as well.
The set is available now, priced at £99.99.
