Cybermen spotted in Welsh graveyard
Martin Anderson
Doctor Who's shiniest nemesis is returning for the 2008 Christmas special...
Cybermen have been spotted in a graveyard in St Woolos, Newport, where the Doctor Who 2008 Christmas special is being filmed.
The South Wales Argus reports that the site was covered in fake snow, and the presence of the malevolent cyborgs was revealed when local resident Janet Hancock saw the filming yesterday whilst walking her dog.
Told by a security guard that they were filming Doctor Who, Hancock sneaked a peek over the wall to see “ people in long black coats running all over the site”, though neither the Doctor nor rumoured guest star Dervla Kirwan were in evidence.
The Christmas special is set in the Victorian era, and will in effect be the first of a short series of truncated specials that wil replace a full series. Series 5 is tentatively set for 2010.

Re: Cybermen spotted in Welsh graveyardLet's just wait and see. In a sense, it spoils it if we know. But there again, it could all be an elaborate ruse... ;)
I usually like Dr Who. | |
Re: Cybermen spotted in Welsh graveyardI don't know why anyone is surprised at Cybermen in a Welsh graveyard. I live in Llanelli and we've got 'em here running our rugby club! |
