What J J Abrams Did Next

The man whose name is entwined with Lost, Cloverfield, Alias and more has a new project on the way...

With Cloverfield successfully delivered to cinemas and ready to roll, and shooting on the Star Trek movie well underway, you’d be forgiven for thinking that J J Abrams might want a bit of a break. But you’d be wrong.

Casting has now started, we’re informed, on his next project, a new series for Fox in America called Fringe. The show is based around three paranormal investigators, and is believed to have X-Files overtones to it, and work is shortly to begin on a two hour pilot episode to set the ball rolling.

The casting department have been busy. Thus far Mark Valley, Tomas Arana and Kirk Acevedo have been adding to the call sheet, although it’s unclear who they’ll be playing. And to the majority of Brits, it’s also unclear, er, who they are.

Not withstanding that, production on the pilot of Fringe is set to begin shortly.

When we’ll get to see it over here is, of course, anybody’s guess…

Kirk Acevedo was Miguel Alvarez on the brilliant Oz. The other two I've never heard of. It's not just Brits who are scratching their heads saying, "Huh?"
