Doctor Who latest: David Tennant & the new computer game
Simon Brew
Today's Doctor Who update! Is David Tennant leaving? And news about next year's videogame too...
So earlier this week, we reported the story that Catherine Tate had blabbed a bit about David Tennant’s future in Doctor Who. Since then, there’s been the official press screening of the Christmas special (nope. no invite here...!), which is on at 6.50 on, er, Christmas Day.
And at the screening, David Tennant called the rumours that he’d be on his way “a load of old nonsense”. With a few gags about Catherine Tate added to his words, he went on to say that he hadn’t yet made a decision about leaving the show or otherwise. He’s committed to four more specials after the fourth series airs next year.
We still don’t think he’ll be in the Tardis come series five, though. Although depending how Billie Piper’s career goes, they might engineer another way to get her in there.
Also, the long way for a tie-in Doctor Who computer game could be over, it seems. Eidos – they who published Tomb Raider, Hitman and the crap football management games – is to release, will be a Top Trumps-style title with a Doctor Who theme. It’ll be out on Nintendo DS, PC and Playstation 2, perhaps even by Easter.
Although it’s not quite what we had in mind from a Doctor Who videogame, it’ll do for the time being…
