Doctor Who: David Tennant on his way out?
Simon Brew
Catherine Tate's Radio 2 interview last Saturday offered glimpses of confirmation of some Doctor Who rumours
Published on Dec 17, 2007
Tennant had talked, in his commentaries on the season three Doctor Who boxset, about how the show is so exhausting that nobody could do it forever. Yet when talking on the Jonathan Ross radio programme on Radio 2 last Saturday, Tate blurted out the words "I think it's maybe David's last series", in relation to the currently filming series four. Tate then indicated that Tennant may return for the specials in 2009.
She also confirmed that this would be her only full series, and that she'd not be sticking around for series five.
Naturally, the BBC is being tightlipped, and has refused to comment on anything Catherine Tate has said. But it's fair to say that if anyone had any doubts that Tennant, Davies et al were jumping ship, they've long since been eradicated.
