The second season of Dexter, as it turned out, began a good couple of months earlier than officially planned, courtesy of the widely-reported leaking of the first two episodes. Appearing across the various BitTorrent download sites, it’s fair to say that many dedicated Dexter fans were quick to snap them both up.

The episode leaks, of course, then kickstarted a raft of further programmes seeping onto the web in some cases months before their official debut, fuelling speculation that this was a new marketing gimmick.

Dexter’s second season, meanwhile, has now ended in much the same way that is started. As a result, it now seems that the final two episodes – including, obviously, the finale, have also leaked onto BitTorrent, again ahead of their official broadcast date. Already there’s talk that this may be the beginning of a second ‘leaking’ season, with many more US TV shows likely to appear online, although for now it’s just Dexter that’s out there. It also brings up a total of four full episodes of the show's second season that leaked. That's either very careless, or very deliberate.
