Torchwood & Doctor Who update

The latest tittle-tattle from the tabloids, all about Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Save for the BBC Christmas television promotion kicking off, replete with the Doctor and Kylie in the midst of it, it’s been a quieter than usual week in the worlds of Who and Torchwood. But there’s still been enough to warrant a round-up. Phew.
Billie Piper and Catherine Tate
According to some who have been watching filming, these two don’t get along very well. The BBC has denied it. We couldn’t give a shit.
Torchwood for Children:
A specially edited version of every season two Torchwood episode is going to be broadcast, so that younger viewers can enjoy it too. So that’ll remove the sex, swearing, the sex, a bit of violence and some more sex. Apparently, each episode will be “a few minutes shorter”, and will be shown a few days after the full episode. Could this lead to a Torchwood Unrated boxset, we wonder?
Torchwood in mid-January:
Just pretty much confirming what we’ve written about before, and that’s that Torchwood will be kicking off on BBC2 in the middle of January, slightly ahead of the American broadcast.
Sean Pertwee:
Talking to, er, The Sun, Sean Pertwee has apparently said that he’d love to play the role of the Doctor, and thus follow in his father’s footsteps. He’s apparently placed a drunken bet on himself to be the next Doctor, too.
All very exciting, then. The countdown to the Christmas special continues, anyway. We hope it's good...
