Billie Piper returns to Doctor Who
Simon Brew
It's hardly a surprise, but it's now certain that Rose Tyler will be back for a few episodes in the next series of Doctor Who.

Forget that big dramatic ending for the character Rose Tyler; when Martha didn’t – in some people’s eyes – have the same impact, and once Billie Piper had done that show where she walks round in her pants, it was all but inevitable that the phone call would come.
Today, therefore, it’s been revealed that Billie Piper will be heading back to Doctor Who for its fourth season. While it’s not been officially confirmed per se, when Children’s BBC and BBC News start reporting it, you have to accept that it’s true.
Piper is back for three episodes of the upcoming series, which leads credence to the thought that we’ll have a cavalcade of assistants come the end of the season, battling the return of Davros (who may or may not be played by Sir Ben Kinglsey). Captain Jack is returning, Martha’s returning, and Catherine Tate will be stood in the middle of them. Doing impressions, or something.
I quite liked Billie Piper in Doctor Who, and also quite liked the fact that her story arc came to an end, and she moved on. And granted, the fact that she’s likely to come across from the parallel world where we left her does make sense, although cue some form of unnecessary cat fight between at least three assistants after the Doctor’s affections now? Rumours that they’ll cast Jerry Springer to sort the ruckus out have been denied.

I for one am not looking forward to watching her kicking her merry way through a carpet of dropped Hs and being tedious again. At least some of the other drearier Who assistants were nice to look at. I think Who has picked up considerably since it stopped being The Billie Piper Show .
So no, I'm not anticipating this particular reunion.

They'll have to extend the title sequence to fit everyone's name on...
