Star Wars on the small screen

George Lucas has announced that there's more Star Wars coming our way - and it'll be on telly, rather than in cinemas. Hmmm...

I can't figure out what I think about this. Basically, George Lucas is planning to produce a Star Wars TV show. It'll be live action - because there's already been a cartoon one, Clone Wars - but it won't be about any of the main characters from the movies.
In other words, it'll be more Star Wars extended universe stuff.
I can see why Lucas would want to do this: it's pretty much guaranteed to be a success. Even if it's rubbish. And that's the worrying part, really; when was the last time any new Star Wars product was actually good?
It's not like I'm expecting high art, here; just something fun and enjoyable to watch. Which the prequels, with the possible exception of most of Revenge of the Sith, certainly weren't.
But you never know. There's not a lot to go on just yet - all Lucas has said is that "The Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters. It has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of those people. It's completely different. But it's a good idea, and it's going to be a lot of fun to do."
I think I'd feel a lot happier about that 'good idea' if I had any inkling about what it might entail. For now... meh.
