With rumours suggesting that Syfy may have given Caprica a full second season order, the Comic-Con trailer for the back end of the show's maiden run has now surfaced online. We're not getting to see Caprica season 1.5, as it's being referred to, until January of next year. But given this trailer, it does look as if Syfy has taken some time to give the show a little more focus.

I'm not crying out for Caprica to be more action-packed, as some are, rather that I'd like to see some of the many threads begin to deliver. The first half of the season, for me, has felt like hour after hour of primarily laying foundations, without too much pay-off. When the show has shown signs of bursting into life, it's been terrific. But those moments have been in the minority.

This trailer seems keen to play up the fact that Caprica's effects budget seems to have received a hefty injection, and also that the action quotient has gone up. But the truth is that we won't find out how well this has all knitted together for some time yet.

I'm still looking forward to seeing how Caprica pans out, and the trailer has done nothing to dampen that. Here it is, if you fancy a gander...
