Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateI hope his signature style to the Doctor will always be a jacketless yuppie with a bad tie. That's adorable
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateI can't help thinking that "Series 1" on the slate is a finger to RTD
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateApril 3rd it is then! As for series 1, Moffat has talked at some length about his series 1/5/31 thoughts. He actually prefers 31 himself.
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateKick-Ass, April 2nd
Doctor Who, April 3rd
Me?
I can't wait!!! | |
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission date@ThisLeeNoble: That may very well be so however it would be incrediably petty. They really shouldn't have such disdain for RTD as they own him for bringing WHO back and building enthusiasm for it, despite what he might have done to the canon or the characters. Just sayin'....
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateif you look on amazon at the DVD for the new series it says series 5 volume 1
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission datewhen in the US? still april 17th? and I agree about the tie, hate the bowtie. it's like they're trying to make a young doctor seem older.
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission datebrilliant, great news as from saturday 3rd april at last won't be dull now!, I'm guessing the transmission time will be 7.00pm?
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateas to the phone matt smith is holding I'm guessing its a blackberry storm, wonder which network is he on and do they do better deals?
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateDoes seem odd that Matt Smith looks better in the remnants of David Tennant's costume than he does in his own tweedy bowtie and boots combo... I've noticed (from location pics posted elsewhere on the net) the bow tie changes colour throughout the series but surely it would be better to ditch it now and then or preferably altogether. Seems Smith has become a huge fan of the Troughton era (clearly a man of great taste!) and clearly modelled his look on the "cosmic hobo" bowtie and all... ;o)
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission datecan't wait tho am genuinely concerned about matt's take on the doctor! hopefully he brings a fresh take to it and the series while retaining the good bits of the older who! i agree with sailorgaia! rtd shouldnt be totally forgotten without him we wouldnt have who back at all! roll on the 3rd!
Re: Doctor Who series 5: new pictures, confirmed transmission dateare they dumping the sonic screwdriver for an iPhone/Blackberry alternative?

Catch the latest official images of Matt Smith as Doctor Who, as series five is now just weeks away…
It had been unofficially known for the past week or two, but it's now been 100% confirmed that Doctor Who's fifth series since it was revived, and the first featuring Matt Smith as the Time Lord, will arrive on our screens on Saturday 3rd April.
To celebrate the news, the BBC has released a couple of behind the scenes shots from the new series, as well as another picture of Mr Smith in character.
Our reviews of Doctor Who will be returning on Saturday nights too, kicking off on the 3rd. In the meantime, here are those new pictures...
