Heads Up: Ricky Gervais Show starts in the US tonight
Simon Brew
Just a quickie for our US-based readers – Ricky Gervais’ animated adventures kick off tonight…
Published on Feb 19, 2010
We have to wait until April for it in the UK, which is a bit of a pain, but early word on The Ricky Gervais Show - which premieres in the US tonight on HBO - has been really strong indeed. It's, at heart, the animated adventures of Gervais along with Stephen Merchant and regular-butt-of-their-jokes Karl Pilkington, and tonight sees the first in a 13 episode run.
We've not seen it ourselves, so can't judge it, but are looking forward to doing so as soon as we can. Enjoy it, America...

More than a tad. Thanks for the heads-up; unfortunately, HBO is out of our budget at the mo.

So, it turns out that the first episode is an animated version of one of their podcasts. Strange but compelling.

Absolute shite. Can't believe they've commissioned a series on the back of the first episode. The rest of the series can only improve (surely!!?). I'll give episode 2 one last chance....
