These pictures are great! Theres a lot can be said for them. It conjures images of Leonardo Da Vincis 'The Last Supper'. This brings us back to the Christian iconography of the show, while placing John in the Jesus role (he did and was resurected - possibly literally within the show depending on your perception of if it was actually John on the island after Ajira 316 crashed). I would imagine that the positions of the other characters are relevant to the positions of people in Da Vincis painting, but unfortunately I do know know enough about religion to properly comment as to its relevance. I really cant wait for the new series of Lost.

Also, it could be said someone at the table will betray John - I do know that Sayid is in the position of Judas in the picture, so it could be assumed Sayid will btray John at some point in the final series.

I personally think with the way they are postioned, those on the right will be the "white" (Jacobs) side and those on the left being the "black" (BSG) side, with Sayid the Judas amongst the BSG camp, but isn't it intresting that would be almost similar to the last Lost split in season 4...

It's a popular image to recreate in pop culture. It has been done recently by Battlestar Galactica, The Sopranos, The Simpsons, Watchmen, MASH, Dilbert and 100 other TV casts, movies, video games, cartoons and the like, though this is one of the better versions. Actually, I think Kate is in Judas' spot rather than Sayid. Which is somewhat of a letdown since I don't find her nearly as interesting a Judas as Sayid. And I think it's neat that some of the characters are on one side of the table in one picture, and on the other side of the table in the other.

Lost season 6: new promo pictures

The cast of Lost recreate Da Vinci’s The Last Supper in the latest promo images for season 6…

In keeping with its promise not to feature new footage in any of the promotional material for the upcoming final season of Lost, ABC has instead released a pair of new images that see the cast of the show recreating the Da Vinci painting The Last Supper.

There's nobody with their back to us this time as there was on the last promo poster that ABC issued, but the seating arrangement, with John Locke front and centre, is still surely of some importance. Or are we taking Lost theories to the nth degree there?

The show returns on 2nd February in the US.
