Anyone else reminded of the Colin Baker/Sylvester McCoy era title credits, where the Doctor's dour face is replaced by a smiley one?

Whoah? what? David Tennant's not the Doctor anymore? I had no idea! They certainly kept that under wraps! The new doctor looks like one of those creepy silent gentlemen from Buffy (with hair, obviously).

Doctor Who: BBC releases David Tennant to Matt Smith image

The BBC has released a promo picture to mark the transition of one Doctor Who to the next. And we’ve got it right here…

The BBC has signed off the David Tennant era of Doctor Who with the release of an image that marks the end of one era and the beginning of the next.

There's not much more we can add to it, so we'll shut up, and just let you admire the image itself...
