Leaked TV episodes: the update

Simon Brew

By our count, 13 different American TV shows have had episodes leaked onto the Internet over the past two weeks. Is this the brand new marketing idea, then?

Over the past few weeks, we've been reporting on the growing number of American TV shows that have been leaked onto the Internet. We've speculated as to whether this part of a marketing campaign that no studio will ever admit to, and you have to say now that the sheer number of shows that have popped out in a short space of time makes that a very likely scenario.

We've already covered the likes of Pushing Daisies, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Bionic Woman and Dexter. But over the past week, since we spoke about this topic last, plenty more have made their way onto the net.

This, to our knowledge, is the full list, a remarkably long list of titles that is a quick snapshot of the Autumn TV schedules in the States. Note that Weeds has now had four episodes leaked of its next season!

[Quick note before we get to the list: you'll find no torrent links here - we're not that kind of site!]

Aliens In America: season one, episode one
Big Bang Theory: season one, episode one
Bionic Woman: season one, episode one
Brotherhood: season two, episodes one and two
Californication: season one, episode one
Cane: season one episode one
Caveman: season one, episode one
Chuck: season one, episode one
Dexter: season two, episodes one or two
Lipstick Jungle: season one, episode one
Pushing Daisies: season one, episode one
Sarah Connor Chronicles: season one, episode one
Weeds: season three, episodes one to four

That's, to my count, nine brand new shows that have effectively premiered on the Internet. The times really are a-changing...
