The popular Doctor Who spin-off is nearly back and there's some interesting developments on Bannerman Road along with great casting news.

This month's Doctor Who Magazine has revealed new information regarding the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. The spin-off returns to the small screen on October 15th but, like Torchwood earlier this year, there will be a change to its weekly transmission.
The first episode, Prisoner of the Judoon, will air on a Thursday (as opposed to the usual Monday) whilst the second episode will be broadcast the following day. This means that audiences will see one entire story (made up of two parts) screened each week; they will also be shown first on BBC One with a simulcast on BBC HD.
In casting news for the spin-off show, two familiar names have been added to the cast of this year's finale, The Gift. Simon Callow (Four Weddings & A Funeral) and Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets) will add their vocal talents to the two-parter. Callow is no stranger to the world of Doctor Who, having appeared as Charles Dickens in 2005's The Unquiet Dead whilst Margolyes has lent her talents to the Big Finish audio, The Beast of Orlok.
As reported earlier this year, David Tennant is set to make his debut on The Sarah Jane Adventures. His appearance will start on October 29 in the story, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith.Coincidentally, Doctor Who Magazine also reports that the computer generated story Doctor Who: Dreamland will also be broadcast in the latter half of October (though no date was given).
